Missions Outreach

Missions outreach and supporting the needs of our community and beyond is fundamental to our Slatersville Congregational Church, a UCC church in northern Rhode Island.

Through acts of service and loving outreach, we provide an opportunity for people to grow closer to God as they embark on a journey filled with meaningful experiences and lasting memories. By volunteering their time and energy, we can gain valuable insight into the community; discovering how we can coexist more harmoniously regardless of socioeconomic or geographical barriers.

” Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” – Hebrews 13:16

In addition to our involvement with the North Smithfield Food Pantry, a local Men’s Shelter, Family Shelter, and Women’s Recovery House, we adopt families at Christmas and provide gifts and gift certificates. Our youth participate in National Days of Service by putting together Blessing Bags of food and hygiene supplies to donate to the homeless in the area. Our Missions Committee provides the funding for many of these projects and also responds to needs outside of our community with monetary donations. These donations have been sent to assist with such disasters as the floods, hurricanes and tornadoes in the South, Haitian Relief, the war in Ukraine, to name a few.
