On Saturday, August 29, we hosted a “Bell Care & Repair” event here in Globe Hall. We had other handbell choirs bring their bells to be polished and serviced by two amazing volunteers, Jeannie Cushman and Dan Moore, who have been working with handbells for many years. Our own Slatersville 3- octave set was  painstakingly disassembled, superpolished, and reassembled bell by bell. Thank you to Margaret, Teri, Marilyn, and Melissa (from Lil’ Rhody Ringers) for all of their help!! The bells were shined up so much, you may need sunglasses to watch us play!

The SCC Handbell Choir has been asked to perform at the Bell Ringing and Closing Ceremony to commemorate the nation’s 250th celebration during Constitution Day, on Thursday, September 17th, 4pm at Heritage Hall. Please join us!

Interested in playing (or subbing) with the SCC Handbell Choir? We rehearse on Thursdays at 6:30pm. ALL ARE WELCOME! You do not need to read music, but if you do, great!! We will teach you everything you need to know. The first step is to try!

If you are up for a challenge, Lil’ Rhody Ringers is a community handbell choir, copper-level (intermediate/reaching for advanced), that is always open to new  members! We rehearse twice a month at SCC, and we play more secular music. Contact me if you’d like to join us or be a sub:
