A FRIENDLY REMINDER FROM THE MISSIONS COMMITTEE to mark your calendar for Sunday, May 18 as we gather together after church to host RISE AGAINST HUNGER and
create over 10,000 meal packages, which will be sent to those in need in Kenya.

We are looking for lots of volunteers to make this event a success, so please look for sign-up sheets in Globe Hall or take advantage of online registration. Strong bodies are needed to help with setup on Saturday, May 17 , as well as both unloading and loading the trucks before and after the event.

There are plenty of opportunities for volunteers of all ages! United Parish of Upton will be partnering with us for this special event!

In recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Missions Committee voted to donate $500 to Day One Rhode Island. Day One is the only agency in Rhode Island that is specifically organized to deal with issues of sexual assault as a community concern.

The organization provides treatment, intervention, education, advocacy, and prevention services to Rhode Islanders of all ages – from preschool to elder adults.

They also advocate for public policy initiatives and systemic changes that positively impact how Rhode Island families handle sexual abuse cases. Day One offers hope, healing, and
action to survivors with the goal of restoring their sense of dignity, selfrespect, and self-worth.
