Apple Sunday – September 14th!

Published On: September 8th, 2025

The Christian Education Committee wants to announce that Apple Sunday will be on September 14. We will have apples, Bob and Jean Meo’s presentation about the origins of Slatersville Congregational Church’s Sunday School (The first in the nation) as well as registration for Sunday School. Please bring apple themed snacks (as well as the recipes) to share for a special Coffee Hour, welcoming our new Music Director, Joe Godfrey! (We will be compiling an Apple themed Cookbook with the recipes)!

Regular classes will begin on September 21 for this upcoming Sunday School Season:

· Birth to age 5 will be in the nursery.
· Students from K – Grade 5 will meet in the Memorial Room after the children are released from service during the “Children’s Moment” each Sunday Morning. There is a sign-up sheet in Globe Hall, for volunteers who can assist the Teacher in helping students read, keep their place and work on crafts during Sunday School. Volunteers may be different week to week so please feel free to sign up for just one date, or several!
· Children grades 6 – up will attend service, with study ideas to follow.

October 5 all children will be involved in World Communion Sunday.
Sensory Services continue the first Saturday each month at 5 pm. Our Next service will be on September 6 at 5pm. All are welcome to our Sensory Services, especially those who prefer a quiet service, without piano, organ and which also includes low lighting. Services last about 30 minutes, followed by a light meal together. We are averaging 13 students each service along with their families. For more information ask Pastor Sean, Michell Eskeli, Sarah Brenneman, Jessica Barbosa, Hope Paul or Mary Stelle.

A calendar of Sunday School events will be available on Apple Sunday (September 14th). Additional events may be added as the year progresses. And finally, the nursery has new toys thanks to Pastor Sean’s donation! Thank you Pastor Sean! Feel Free to stop by to see them in use.
