It was a busy month for the Missions Committee as we once again hosted Rise Against Hunger to package 10,152 meals to be sent to Kenya. With the help of $3,600 of your Missions contributions and along with an additional $500 from The United Parish of Upton, Massachusetts, we were able to create the meals in record time. With the help of Boy Scout Troop 1139, the meals were boxed, put on pallets and loaded onto
the truck. From the warehouse, the meals will be shipped to Kenya to help end hunger.

In recognition of National Foster Care Awareness Month, the Missions Committee voted to send $500 to the Village for Rhode Island Foster and Adoptive Families, a valuable resource for foster, kinship, guardianship, and adoptive families. The Village was incorporated in 2016 with the mission of contributing to the development and maintenance of a network of healthy and committed families for children in Rhode Island needing out-of-home care. The Village is an integral part of a child’s support team, connecting families with resources, giving families opportunities to meet with others via support groups, providing mentoring, and organizing fun family activities like Easter egg hunts and gingerbread house building during the holiday seasons.
