Lenten Meditation Series
by Margaret Hanoian
Please join us for a Lenten Meditation Series! Like last year, it will be based on the book “One Breath at a Time: A Skeptic’s Guide to Christian Meditation” by J. Dana Trent. It is designed for people who haven’t meditated much (or at all!). For each day of Lent, there is a short meditation exercise — each one will take around 12 minutes.
Each Wednesday at 7 p.m., we will meet on Zoom to lead you through the first meditation of each type. Then we will all do the remaining days on our own at home. If you miss a day or two, it’s okay! There is a pattern to the exercises, so it’s easy to catch on after a couple of days.
We will be doing a few new types of meditation this year. Here is the plan:
- Week 1 (March 5): Breathing Meditation
- Week 2 (March 12): Gratitude Meditation
- Week 3 (March 19): Imagery Meditation
- Week 4 (March 26): Loving Kindness Meditation
- Week 5 (April 2): Centering Meditation
- Week 6 (April 9): Lectio Divina Meditation
- Week 7 (April 16): Devotional Meditation
