Let’s be angry, but let’s not be shocked.
Let’s say his name – Tyre Nichols – but not forget all others killed by racism and state-sanctioned violence.
Let’s weep at the violent loss of life, but let’s not cry because we are surprised this happened again.
Let’s see Tyre Nichols’ dignity – skateboarding on a sunny day — but not gawk at his death.
Let’s join our hearts in prayer, but not so we can avoid taking action.
Let’s learn from each other, but not for the sake of endless discussion.
Let us take action. Let us be transformed.
